Use Cases
The very low instrumentalization of the DirActNI framework makes it possible to realize very immersive scenarios that were not previously possible in this intensity and such a low budget. The range of use cases is very wide and the most ideal are those which take advantage of the egocentric naturally interaction. In the following are some possible use cases, especially Serious Games, listed.
Visualization
The DirActNI framework does not only make it possible to visualize virtual environments but also
let you experience the environment and
interact with it and it's items.
Possible scenarios in this field are:
- virtual prototyping
- virtual tours (e.g. museum, architecture, furniture)
Education
Books are good for learning,
interactive applications works better but
immersive scenarios let you experience the knowledge and
makes it tangible for you.
Possible scenarios in this field are:
- simulations (e.g. solar system, physical phenomena)
- virtual tours (e.g. museum, architecture)
Simulation
Experience is very important for a good achievement. Unfortunately many scenarios are nearly impossible to train, because they are to expensive or very hard to reproduce in real. The immersive and naturally interaction of DirActNI makes it possible to train also such scenarios. You do not click on some buttons but have to
interact as natural as possible to make the
training successful.
Possible scenarios in this field are:
- Training: (e.g. firefighting, surgery)
Therapy
On the one hand the
natural interaction can be used for
effective kinesitherapy and on the other hand it provides the possibility of a
warily step by step hyposensitization without throwing the patient at the deep end. For example it is possible to get the patient warily in contact with his fear or
increase the level of reality and thus the anxiety to inure him.
Possible scenarios in this field are:
- kinesitherapy
- phobia reduction (e.g. acrophobia)
Entertainment
And of course, the DirActNI framework can also be used to entertain you with more realistic and more immersive games.
